In November, my family and I embarked on a long-awaited trip to India. It was an amazing experience that represented different things to each family member.
For me, it was a chance to reconnect with my parents, who haven’t been able to travel to the States for years, and to see a country where I spent time during my childhood. For my wife Kim, it was a chance to visit a spectacular new corner of the world that had always intrigued her. For my kids, it was an opportunity to step way out of their comfort zone. They are born-and-bred Jackson kids, after all, and while they are curious about the world beyond our beautiful mountain town, they know little about it.
India provided experiences beyond my children’s imaginations: street kids and millionaires, overcrowded streets, deserted beaches, fresh coconuts, and spicy food. They haven’t stopped talking about it since! Which reminds me of the simple truth that stepping into the unknown truly expands your horizon …
