You may wonder how we keep our stoke up at Kate’s? Sure, it looks pretty from the surface—we’re out and about on our Facebook page enjoying the mountains. But the reality is: running a small business takes hard work that often cuts into our PLAYtime. That’s why the personal letters really make us smile. They make all the hard work, computer time, ingredients mixing, and box packaging worthwhile! Here’s a little ditty we recently received…

My name is Tommy Van Swearingen and I first tasted Kate’s Handlebars because they were included in my shipment of Klim snowmobile apparel. I work at Vickery Motorsports in Denver, Colorado and my specialty is snowmobiles and their respective accessories.
I’m not even sure how to get my point across, but here it goes.
In March I was told I was pre-diabetic, my bad cholesterol was bad, my good cholesterol was bad, and I needed to lose twenty-five pounds. At age 41, this was not what I wanted to hear. I did some research, got determined, started to clean up my diet, and hit the gym. I decided that I needed to start researching foods that I liked, and that would also be good for my blood levels. Enter Kate’s! I eat one bar almost everyday in the morning. I take them fly-fishing with me for snacks. I even take them on road trips.
In early August, now 42 years old, I was told that my blood levels were well within range and my weight is down. I know that the ingredients in Kate’s bars are a big part of my success.
Part of the reason that I chose to stick with Kate’s is because, unlike so many of the health food manufacturers, you don’t have anything against dirt bikes or snowmobiles!! In fact a lot of you ride and you even sponsor some high profile athletes. Plus the bars taste great!
So, I want to say thank you!!!! I can’t wait to take Kate’s bars with me snowmobiling this winter!!
Ride on Tommy! We are thrilled to be part of your success story!
