We have so many people who love our bars, and more are discovering them all the time. Our athlete ambassadors and teams are instrumental in making this happen, as they pass out bars to folks they meet on the trail, at races or while coaching camps and clinics. Just so you can get to know some of the folks who help spread the word about Kate’s, we’ve picked their brain a bit more about who they are and why they do what they do!
In the Spotlight today: The Bandwagon Racing Team.
Based in Colorado Springs, the Bandwagon Racing Team roster is made up of cyclists with an unwavering passion for promoting cycling in all its glorious forms. From rippin’ juniors, 24 hour racers and single speeders, to a Columbian climbing phenom, Bandwagon has an eclectic mix of mountain biker racers.
Doug Johnson, a coach and yoga instructor leads the team. Doug grew up racing motos and bmx but found mountain biking to be the best of both worlds. Spending parts of June coaching the USA Jr Development Camp in Colorado Springs, he also devotes his free time to racing himself, competing in endurance events like the Whiskey 50, Old Pueblo and the Gunnison Growler.
- Trevor, Bandwagon’s junior racer, raced a sub-4 hour Gunnison Half-Growler and placed 6th in the Pro XCT in Colorado Springs.
- Fernando brings a bit of South America to the roster. Hailing from Columbia, Fernando’s career highlights include a string of first places. He will be racing both in the New York and Canadian World Cups this summer.
- Stephanie spent her first season racing in sandy Arizona and is ready to get thrown into the fire of racing in the Rocky Mountains.
- Pablo, racing single speeds, has had some great results when not running SAG for his son Trevor. You can read about his exploits on his blog.

Bandwagon Racing’s schedule is intense and varied: you’ll find them racing all over Colorado and the Rocky Mountain West almost every weekend. Coming up next this summer, cheer them on while they race in the Firecracker 50 and the Breck 100.
