Winter Bucket List 2021

Winter Bucket List 2021

While winter is one of our favorite times of the year for outdoor activities, there may be other activities--indoor and outdoor--that can be enjoyable. Here are 10 of the best winter activities to enjoy even after the holidays!

  1. Go on a Ski Tour

Skiing and snowboarding will always be close to our hearts--but ski passes can be hard to get ahold of this season. So, take to the backcountry on a ski tour if powder days are your thing. Be sure to plan ahead and keep yourself safe.

  2. Support Local Shops

Research some local companies in your area that could use your support! You might be surprised at all of the fun goodies and items that are made locally for you to enjoy. This is also a great way to find some new favorite items!

  3. Have a Snowball Fight

There is no shame in some old-school snow play! Get your neighborhood involved to really step things up while keeping a safe distance. If you’re feeling cooped up in your house, a little nostalgic time in the snow may be just what you need.

  4. Read a New Book

There is nothing quite like curling up with a good book on a cold day, especially paired with your favorite hot drink. Lose yourself in a riveting tale, brush up on your favorite topics, or take the time to learn something new!

  5. Go Ice Fishing

Immerse yourself in the outdoors with a peaceful day of ice fishing. If you’ve never tried it, be sure to do your research for ice safety and pack for the weather. Ice fishing is great for the whole family to enjoy and puts a fun winter spin on the sport.

  6. Strap on Some Snowshoes

Who says you can’t hike in the winter? Strap on some snowshoes and hit the trails! Research some safe areas to explore and enjoy mountainous areas in their crisp, winter beauty.

  7. Find a Natural Hot Springs

If you are missing the pools and the summer heat--but aren’t wanting to visit any big pools this year--research your areas to see if there are any natural hot springs that are safe to visit! Nothing beats a warm dip after a ski tour or snowshoe hike.

  8. Try a New Recipe

Fill your home with the warmth and sweet smells of baking. Make it a goal to choose a new recipe every week-- mix things up and try some new flavors. Cooking at home can be a great way to improve your diet and fuel your body with delicious, real-food energy.

  9. Build a Snowman

A winter bucket list wouldn’t be complete without a snowman. Take yours to the next level this year. Make it bigger, bolder, more creative-- really think outside the box. Challenge yourself to make something you won’t ever forget.

  10. Donate to a Local Cause

While the holiday season is coming to a close, you can still continue the giving spirit. Find a local cause that you can volunteer at or donate to. Lending a hand goes a long way!
